Dear Friends,

The County has finished posting their unofficial election results, and WE DID IT! Not only did both AAPS millage proposals win handily, they won in just about every precinct. (Preliminary results below.)

Perhaps even more important, we broke out of the relatively low turnout for school elections and came very close to getting 10,000 votes cast on each of the proposals.

This is a testament to the hard work of so many volunteers across our community; I wish I could name everyone here, but please know you have been part of something important in the last few weeks. We’ve been building the foundations of a real community effort to support our schools and take an active role in shaping the future of public education in Ann Arbor. Just imagine what we can accomplish in the future!

All of us CMC co-chairs want to give our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped with the campaign. It has been a joy to meet so many wonderful, committed people – parents, teachers and administrators. We very much look forward to working with you in the future to meet the next challenges!

Yes – 7368 (77%)
No – 2224 (23%)
Total votes cast: 9592

AAPS Proposal C (Sinking Fund)
Yes – 7260 (76%)
No – 2353 (24%)
